In the Hotel Business article “Industry optimism still remains at Meet the Money,” executive news editor Stefani C. O’Connor captured perfectly the atmosphere of Meet the Money® National Hotel Finance and Investment Conference, organized by JMBM’s Global Hospitality Group®. that took place May 5-7 in Los Angeles.
She wrote:
“The sentiment among attendees remained that there continues to be an abundance of capital chasing deals, with foreign investment, particularly out of China, keeping transaction activity robust.”
The article, which appears in the May 21, 2015 issue of the publication, details the financing terms provided by a number of debt and equity providers whose executives participated on conference panels, including:
- James Morehead, Managing Director, GE Capital Franchise Finance
- Adam Valente, Managing Director, Rockbridge Capital
- Matthew Hick, Director of Financing, Access Point Financial
- Francisco Nacorda, EVP, The Loan Depot Lending Co.
- Alice Gao, SVP, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China
- Ira Ury, Managing Director of PMZ Realty Capital
These and dozens more industry insiders shared their expertise throughout the two-and-a-half day conference.
O’Connor’s article also includes the numbers provided by Vail Brown, STR’s VP of Global Business Development, which indicate healthy hotel fundamentals: On a 12-month moving average, hotel occupancy is up 3.6%, Average daily rate (ADR) is up 4.7%, Revenue per available room (RevPAR) growth is up 8.5% and room revenue is up 9.5%.
Brown is quoted as saying, “It is a really, really good time to be in the lodging industry here in the United States.”
We couldn’t agree more.
